Ok, so my lab is definitely going for a hip replacement so just wondering a few things:
Is it going to be complete immobility afterwards?
How long will she stay at the vets?
What are the risks of this?
Will she be pain free when it's all over and done?
Quite worried atm as she has to shed weight, told this a week ago, so put her on loads of exercise, a diet of obesity food. What happened? She has put on 0.3kg .
Now, the only hope I'm clinging to is that the original weight was taken around a month or more ago, and this weight taken on monday, so perhaps she had gained weight and then lost some?
The practice have even rung us up to see about putting her on weight loss tablets, which the parents are really not keen on.
So if anyone knows anything about them that would be great too!
At least at weight watchers they don't ring you to find out why you're gaining!
so frustrating though, she has had all treats/scraps/licking the dishwasher plates cut out and had expensive 'fat' food and tons of exercise, mainly swimming. And nothing. I'm really worried in case they do the op and it doesn't go well, I mean I assume you can't really undo a hip replacement so it would be very bad..
