Our hay is still standing in the field. It hasn't been dry enough long enough to get it. Looking like we will have to wait til the first week in August. How much will that affect the quality of the hay?

We have made late hay in the past. The shorter days make drying a bit harder but the older stems/less leaf needing less drying helps counteract this.

Well got the quality can be there but the older grass which is past its best suits good doers better than racehorses.

We haven't got any yet. Still growing in the field. Everyone else locally cut theirs when bit was dry in early June. YO said he wasn't doing it that early. Then it rained and hasn't really stopped. We're all having to buy hay in.
