Very wet and very windy here today.

One's out with a sheet and two are without.

Its been raining and looks like it's going to be showers on and off all day here in East/West Yorkshire but Mr M is naked, he's up to weight, got a coat suitable for Autumn, he's perfectly fine without a rug, however thats just because its him, not because I can't be bothered to stick one on or have rules about what time of the month horses should have rugs on etc.

Ive rugged up one who was going out this morning, but the 3 who were out all night have stayed naked, including my mare who is needing a bit more condition, but wont starve or freeze

Thoughroughly rugged up! Really can't afford for him to lose any weight as we're having a fight to the death to get weight on him before winter (only had him 6 weeks, ex racer who resembled a hat rack on arrival!) Plus he's living out all the time at the mo due his favourite past time of getting cast (in his HUGE stable even with anticast roller on). God knows what I'm going to do when he has to come in!

Yup D has his rug on, only a rain sheet though as just recently he has dropped quite a bit of weight and I cant afford for him to lose anymore before we get to winter. He's also still got a very thin coat, no signs of the winter one coming through yet. The midget and the nervous one are both naked as they are getting a lovely winter coat come through this year and are on the 'round' side even on restricted grazing so wont do them any harm to shiver off some blubber.

Both mine are wearing their rain macs but for different reasons - Hovis because i want to ride him in a while and Omar because he is the biggest poof on the planet and has a cat like hatred of getting wet.

Yep mine is ruggged - and still through temper tantrum about going out in the wind and rain this am.

Anything else I wouldn't have bothered but I'd of had to fight her to get her out her stable let alon stay in the field without waterproofs!!

All naked! I was tempted to put a jumper on one of my ex-battery hens though, she looked a bit cold but is sitting in her straw box so should be ok!!

Rugged up in a rain sheet as he was throwing a strop about going out and it was pretty nasty earlier. But looking out my window now, think I will go and take it off him, he's enough fat/grass to keep him warm/occupied now it's stopped blowing a gail. Joys of working less than a hundred yards from my stables!

Yes I rugged him up yesterday when it was fine as it was going to rain overnight only to keep him dry so he can be worked this morning he will then go back out naked.

Nope not rugged - he still has a fly sheet on actually as his field has water on both sides & the flies get really bad as soon as the rain stops! I know that will have gotten wet but it'll dry & it's not exactly cold - I have short sleeves on!

No, they do have their snuggy bodies on but no rugs. Not that cold and wet in Essex and have plenty of body fat, are young and a good coat.

Should it turn really nasty, I will put a sheet on Farra as she is out in small pen for her leg and can't move round to keep warm or out of the weather.

Mine's rugged and I'm now regretting it

Cold and drizzly this morning, checked the weather forecast which said it would be much the same all day (drizzle/light rain/heavy rain). She's an old girl and doesn't keep warm easily, so I decided to rug her.

Now I'm looking at bright sunshine and shouting at the met office forecast. AARGH!

One of the yearlings has a rug on as she shivers like mad when it rains so i put it on late last night in preparation as the forecast was heavy rain all night too. She gets cold very easily though, the others are fine without.
