I am taking my 27 year old gelding (titch wizard) and doing finals of class A2 (the small one!!), friend is riding him in finals for B2 and also has her own mare in that Regents Bounty.
What class are you doing????
We are not getting there until late thursday night so will be finding stables by torchlight then driving to lovely warm and dry hotel as fed up of being cold and wet currently!!

No I'm not going.
Decided it was too expensive to get and stay there. I'd only qualified for 1 class and like Beetle said, the optimum time scoring is a bit hit and miss.
It's not being televised, Horse & Country TV dropped out I understand.

mad hossy i agree with u , i am in the same sitation however i am going i got through on class one and have never done any thing like this beofre and thought it would be a great exspernce for me and my pony . i am going with my friend in there box (although they are not doing it ) and i cant wait plus i get to miss my gcse mock french lol . yh i also heard that horse & country i like the way they tell us at the last minute i really wanted to be on tele lol . cneways c every one there thats going xx

If it had been at Berkshire College I would definately have gone to the Champs to go there and back in one day.
But as it's 200 miles away it was going to cost over £200. Normally I'd camp which would save a bit of dosh, but my tent isn't upto winter weather and nor are my bones!

Good to hear not everyone has thrown the towel in although H&C TV will be getting a shocking letter from my friend with no doubt!!!
It has been a funny old week, first horsebox people let us down, then hotel booked was a mess up, but somehow we have it sorted! We said it will be typical that we have pulled out all the stops to get up there, financially and taking time off work etc, for us to prolly have the first jumps down!!
They have joker class, which is more of a warm up by all accounts, wasnt too impressed with rossies at regionals, to be honest at £18 you expect at least 3 tiers!!! or some prize money.
We are going because its winter, we are fed up and it makes a chance, albeit an expensive one, we are in OXON the horsebox is currently in Preston but thats another story!!! Usually sleep in lorry but taking a diddy marlborough this time and as a slightly older lady now I prefer my comforts, spent all weekend at MHOYS freezing in box with no heating, not doing that again!

Just out of interest, cricklands however is well worth the money and you only need a couple of SJ clears to qualify, they do open derbys all summer also, fab weekend and not as far as you think. From berkshire its just over an hour up the M4......malthouse and blewbury do qualifiers all winter, if you go double clear in a SJ class ASK FOR A QUALIFIER card, they are not always offered.

Apart from everything else, I decided not to go because it IS winter.
I'm now in blues mode and can't face the 4 hrs drive there in the dark on a Friday afternoon with my god daughter who really should be at school, and then 4 hrs back in the dark on Saturday evening.
I can do anything in daylight or when it's warm, but cold and dark, yukkk!

We are heading up tomorrow and sleeping in the lorry!!!!!!
Class A2 and we are driving up from Bucks.
