Further to my earlier post about websites advertising things for sale & not having them. Well I reordered from Frogpool Manor website after being let down by Surrey Equestrian but decided to phone them to double check they could do the order.....I don't know which company is worse?

Frogpool couldn't find my order, & said they'd phone back in a few moments. I called them back after 2 hours as they hadn't bothered!

They told me somehow my order had gone onto their test site

& they also tell me that they hadn't got the shirt.

I thought stay cool

so I tried to order a slightly different one off their site

to be told after giving the details to them "We'll have to order that" because they again were advertising at least 2 shirts they hadn't got!

These companies are a bloody joke! Are they all padding their websites with stuff they haven't got!

Oooo...I have had that from frogpool as well and other sites, when I have ordererd one size and they have sent me the next nearest...how can a size 16 be anything near a size 8 (not to boast).

Oh dear - it is very annoying. I think the problem is that is is relatively expensive to integrate your website with your stock system, especially if you also have a store, and the equestrian companies dont' seem to see the value in it.

Personally I think a lot more people would order from them online if they thought the stock figures were more reliable. Good luck getting your shirt!

To be fair to Surrey Equestrian, you get what you pay for! They offer hugely discounted items, which they would be unlikely to be able to offer if they have to invest in an expensive stock system which worked out stock in shop, stock sold online etc.

I work in mail order so see it from the other side of the fence. We list over 2000 products (plus 6000 or so replacement bulbs) on our site.
We can't keep them all in stock because it's not practical. But there are two buts.
A) We only work with reputable suppliers (the majority of whom will ship direct so it makes no difference if it's going from the suppliers warehouse or ours) and B) if an order is placed, we never take payment without fully checking stock and if something is out of stock, as invariably happens sometimes, we call the customer, let them know, they can choose to wait or we'll find them an alternative.

So personally I think you've been very unlucky and had very poor service and hope you have better luck next time.

But please don't get too mad at them not holding stock- hopefully as you can see it's not always the most logical option for a company. Hope you manage to get your shirt sorted

It took me about 3 months to get a bit I ordered, I ordered from the site as it was the only one that said it was in stock, so I ended up paying more for it and it still taking for ever to get here.
Now it's arrived horse is out of action, typical
