I have been looking for 3 months now, since i moved to exeter, and have had no luck finding a black, 17 or 17.5 inch dressage saddle that must have some sort of gullet changing facility (ie wintec type gullets or the Keiffer tree key etc)
My saddlery has pleanty of saddles but they are all brand new and soooo expensive. I only want one to school in. Perhaps its my budget? I have £300 to spend and ive kept a further £25 for postage aside. Ive been looking on ebay, but everything is too nice ie Jaguar type stuff or wrong size. There must be something out there surely?

I purchased a lovely wintec close contact from them...it arrived very promptly

That should be ample budget for a wintec, you should be able to get a new or nearly new Wintec 500 dressage saddle. I got a nearly new Wintec 500GP for my mate for £168 inc P&P last week. Or are you looking for a leather one? I know I paid £500 for my balck leather Bates dressage saddle, which I thought was very cheap as £1200 new and this one was only 6 months old.

don't forget that you can adjust the gullet on the Wintec, but the back will always be a medium fit, there is a 17" wintec pro dressage saddle sat in my attic at the moment because the back is just too narrow on it..however if anybody wants to try it.....

Friend has just bought exactly what you want on Ebay, secondhand, for £200. Try searching for saddles by the Saddle Company, they are infinitely adjustable (by a registered SC fitter) and are done on site so you dont need to be without them for weeks on end.

Very nice saddles and reasonable even when purchased new.

Yeah Wintecs are actually very nice saddles! I was shocked when I had to buy one (nothing else would fit him) at how comfy, lightweight and nice they are! Was so impressed with them I went out and bought a 2nd hand Wintec dressage saddle. Cost me £150 which was a bargain considering it still looked brand new (and had all the newer features of Cair, changeable gullet etc.). Both horses seem to love the saddles as well (one prefering it to his leather).

This is the one Ive got:

And on here its only £268.99 brand new so under your budget!

Whychanger Barton North of Willand (J27) often has a second hand isabel so I suggest there although they charge a small fortune to fit them! Also try Acorn saddlery fantastic master saddler who I really respect as he doesn't always try to sell you a saddle unlike other saddlers in the area I know!!
