Why are children's riding hats cheaper?

So that IS all it is? I thought so, but have often wondered if there was any other difference. Hey ho, if that's all then - I'm for kids' size every time. Benefits of me being a 'shrimp'! :D

'Kids' hats actually go very very large! So if the shape fits the head even if the adult has a large head they can have an child's hat

Yes, I'm hacking out in a Charles Owen Kid's Own hat in a size 7 these days. Need a new hat though, so thinking of going a bit more up market next time.

Legally because you have to wear a hat up to the age of 14 they have to make them big enough for any 14 year old. One thing to bear in mind (I wear childrens hats) is that they are often shallower so may not come as far down the head and protect the lower back of the head as well.
