Im having a bit of a moan!!
We have a 12.2hh dartmoor, who we have had for nearly 9 years,so he is part of the family, but it still doesnt stop me hating him(even though i would never get rid of him!)
He is perfect on the lead rein for my 9 year old son,but my 11 year old son wants to move on, off the lead rein, but every time he goes off the lead rein the pony bucks him off,to the point that he is loosing confidence on him.
We all love the pony dearly,so we dont want to get rid of him,but now im going to have to find another pony to loan for my oldest son.Ideally something that will bring his riding on.
Where do i start looking? These ponies are far and few between.Any ideas?
At least we are lucky enough to have our own land and stables!!

Lead rein ponies often struggle without the security of the leader who they learn to depend on for instruction. Suddenly the pony has to rely souly on a leader he cannot see. You could try long reining him to see if it can build his confidence?

Other than that, pony club DC and word of mouth is usually the best way for those superstars.

Have PMed you Maria too.
Have been trying the long reining, but it hasnt helped.Dear little pony!!!
