Hi,

Warning mini rant alert!!!!

I am trying to sell my 2 year old and have had people to see her. They loved her, said she was just what they wanted, asked if they could call a hour later to let me know they def want her, ask if they could bring deposit day after and ask if I could keep her for another 2 weeks for them so it works with another horse leaving the yard and then, u guessed it...they never called back.

Why bother telling all those lies?!?

I have been compleatly honest about her, why cant people just be honest, or even just polite?!

Its worse as I know I REALLY have to sell her, which adds a certain amount of pressure to the precedings but dont see why people cant just be polite, its just nice manners isnt it!

At this rate ill be giving her away, poor pony!!!!!!

Anyway rant over!!!

Vicki :)

When I was selling my trailer I had someone say they'd be back the next day at a certain time with the money and they never turned up (or answered their phone). Soooooo annoying!

Yeah it probably is that their spineless but I don't sww the point in lying. If I go horse shopping I either say no face to face or say that ill maybe ring.
Then I would normally call anyway to say no as its polite.

I only advertised her cheaply so they knew I had other people ring, no one ekse has come though

Irritating isn't it. I hope you find someone soon.

When I sell now I take a deposit there and then or give them to the next day to produce it, if someone else wants the pony/horse then I sell. I have given up being nice and giving people the benefit of the doubt. I can't understand why people go to see a horse without AT LEAST cash for deposit in their pocket, doesn't that make sense? If I am viewing I also take a written receipt with me for them to sign too! I don't do free keep for more than a week either, after that I charge $5 a day, and if I don't hear from them within a fortnight after that, the horse is back on the market!

Same with viewing, I have so many pratts phone and say "we'll come" then they don't show. I ALWAYS tell them that if someone else comes along after the time we have arranged then it is first come first served.

sounds to me like they had their fingers in a few other pies.

That makes it worse. I always tell the seller I do have a few more to look at etc if that is the case and I'll let them know EITHER way. Only common courtesy.

Hate it when it happens to me too, though with other things. Not sold a horse and never intend to do so... though there might be a big rice beaufort going in the far flung future... :)

It's a sign of the times I'm afraid. Some people have nothing better to do than drive around looking at things they can;t afford and then try and justify their visit with a pack of lies.

My husband has a little sports cars for sale and we had exactly the same happen this weekend. The person viewing turned up 3 hours late. Test drove the car, told him they wanted it as it was by far the best one they had seen and said they would do a bank transfer the following day. The following day came along with a text message saying that they had changed thair minds!

So I know how you feel. Just look at it this way, people like that don't deserve to have a horse as they probably wouldn't look after it anyway. I hope you find a nice home for your youngster.

Enfys- isn't it a sorry state of affairs that you have to do all that. its what I will be doing from now on though!

The other thing is, even if they rang and said they wanted her now then I would say no as I think their rude. But then I'd rather keep her then let someone rubbish have her. Poor manky frankie!
