I am now looking for a new horse. I'm not in any desperate hurry as I want a horse I can keep for good so I want to find the right one. But all the horses I like the sound of on Horsemart, H&H, etc are all miles away (OH and I are not well traveled and don't like venturing too far away from home!) and those advertised in local tack shops are not what I'm looking for or are un-realisticly priced.

Any suggestions re. where to look, Glos/ Worc/ Herefordshire borders? I'm very close to J9 M5.

Me too!!!! I am in Glos and am also looking around Glos/Bristol/Somerset area as I will be moving back to Somerset in a few weeks....there seems to be nothing about that is realistically priced! Like you I am not in a huge rush as I am out to buy my forever horse so want to find the right one and not rush into anything.

All the ones I like the look of seem to be too far North East or Kent area :(

Depends what your looking for, there are a couple of very nice looking TB's in the 16 to 17hh section of Project Horses that are in Gloucs.

If I only had the room (and money) there's a chestnut gelding on there that would be mine :p

He was lovely Amymay, but he needs more rehab than I was expecting. If I was younger and had more time I would have snapped him up.

NeilM, Although I have enough experience to take on a project/ ex-racer (successfuly done it before), I no longer have the time, I need something that's ready to go. I also don't want a full TB nor anything over 16 hands.

That's understandable, but I think there are a lot more horses rather than 'project horses' on that web site these days.

Good luck with your search.

Im having the opposite problem.
I have 3 horse to find new home for but cant seem to find the right people.

I get those dreaded time wasters or people that are too far away!

Thanks to Lialls and 4legged for those websites, I have never heard of either.

Trouble with nfed is it goes right down to Southampton so may be to far if you arent willing to travel!

Trade is good for local adverts and it you google "sun adverts", they show all the latest adverts from lots of different sites, saves looking at all of them!

Have you tried equine adverts as well?
