I'm so close to screaming right now.
Got two of the boys for sale as were just too busy to have 6 on, one is my coloured, the other my OHs Bay. I think I have been honest as possible in their ads, but just seem to be attracting a multitude of nutters.
Had various people not show up, a lot shown up, said they really like them and then never get back to me, and today had someone text to ask whether the coloured would be any good as a mounted games pony!!!

Ive got them online, but am.wondering what people's experiences with H&H online and Horsequest are like?

Thanks

I find for selling it is worth using the better sites, less timewasters, Horsequest is good as is the PC site if the horses are the right type for PC/RC homes.

I think both Horsequest and the Pony Club website are more 'top end' than horsemart. Having said that I have bought three in the past via horsemart. I also think H&H - the mag is quite good and you may get a flurry of calls when it comes out on the Thursday.

You've broken the news now on here - they are going to be shocked! ;)

I've had so many now ask for pics reply that she's stunning and never respond when I invite them to come and try her. Very odd. Had enough now. Tempted to keep her and manage but if I could do that she wouldn't be for sale in first place. :-(

I found the British Eveting website very good value for selling our young event breds. If you can target the audience who would appreciate them I suspect you may reduce the nutters.

we found responses from Horsemart were mainly timewasters, lots of texts asking for details and e-mails asking for photo's, day trippers bringing up to 5 children for free rides, this one said she wanted the pony and would call later (of course she never did). H & H and PC website were generally more serious buyers.

sorry if this is a stupid question but whats wrong with asking if a horse would do mounted games?! do you have any idea how much mounted games ponies are selling for in the current market?

He is a 15.3hh coloured cob x hunter. I have previously been very involved with mounted games, and understand the demand inthe market.

IMO calling to ask whether my hunter would make a games pony given his ad and pictures is a bit stupid. HH it is I think!

Know what OP means about timewasters. You get it whatever you're advertising.

A few years back we advertised a DIY vacancy here: and whilst we fully appreciate that people might like to bring a friend for a second opionion - its not funny when people turn up with not just their kids but everyone elses as well and basically think its OK to use the farm as a playground, which it isn't, and in the process swing on gates and think the hay-shed's there for trashing.

Also when I advertised my boy for loan last autumn (on Horsemart, Free-Ads and a few other places) I got every nutter in the South West and beyond; including one psycho woman who was scheduled to come on a certain day & time, and because I'm self employed had re-arranged my schedule to suit. I waited and waited and she didn't come - and didn't ring or anything to say why. THEN blow me down if the next day she expected me to be there for her as she said she "might" turn up, and when I said that I'd waited around the previous day and she hadn't showed, she didn't apologise or anything but still expected me to make time for her again!!! THEN, she spent the whole of the following week bombarding me with phone calls/texts and e-mails saying she was "sorry" and could she please have "one more chance" coz she felt my horse was "just right for her" etc etc. A total fruitloop basically, and I'm glad that I never let her anywhere near my boy.

I really don't know what's wrong with people. But sympathise with anyone who's been "had" by a timewaster. It really is infuriating, and all one can hope is that they'll get their come-uppance one day and someone will do it to them.
