Or do we need to sleep...

I'm a bit down today, there is so much I need to do with my ponies but no time to do this. I have 3. My big retired dressage horse, who has a dodgy hock so can't be ridden, a 'companion' sec A who needs to do something and my coblet who I can actually ride...

The trouble is I don't have enough time to give them the attention I would like to but I can't sell/loan 2 of them -- I've tried to sell the A but don't want him to go for meat and the dressage horse needs tonnes of hard feed to keep weight on him but is not sound enough to ride... the cob I could sell but he's my riding horse so I don't want to..

Ho hum.. don't expect solutions just whinging really.

Are you on a livery yard, or at home? Could you pay for some assistance?

Or perhaps advertise for a sharer / loaner for the section A.

Lots of mums with young kids struggle to find the funds to have a pony but are willing to do mucking out in return for pony rides for their kids.

If your section A is 3 or 4 years old upwards, gelded, backed and useful as a lead rein pony you should be able to find a home for him...selling with tack helps and for an amount above the meat price. About £350 to £500 (depending on his abilities) should find him a nice home. This is the time of year to do it if you are going to!

Good luck.
