Hi all I have just joined the H&H forum because TopSpec will not tell me the starch in the Balancers, All they will say is below 10% am I the only person this has happend to.

Because of this I have spoken to Spillers, D&H and Saracen and they were very happy to help me and give me the info I needed.

Spillers Original 9 % £29.00
D&H Ultimate 13.5 % £32.00
Saracen Essential 5.9% £28.00

But TopSpec who I love and thought I could trust will not tell me what it is, why is this.

I am thinking of moving my own yard and the one I manage off TopSpec balancer to one of the others because of this. On paper the others look just as good and are better priced.

I tried many a time and all I got was combined sugar & starch is about 10% - never a definitive answer.

I used TopSpec Comprehensive for over 5 years and loved it but having moved mine to Blue Chip and/or Saracen BioLife ( I have more than 1 horse ) I've never looked back!

That's so odd that they won't tell you an exact figure!

I've used Topspec All-In-One for 2 years now, been very happy with it, but I now want to feed a pelleted balancer so I don't have to bother with the Graze On and Sugarbeet to mix it in. Two of mine will go on Topspec Joint Balancer (so I don't have to buy separate joint supplement), but the others will probably go on Baileys Performance Balancer (£25.75 for 20kgs).

Thanks Million Doller I have used All-in-One in the past when it was called somthing diifrent showing my age, as a general sup with sugar beet and Alfa A and a low energy cube for a string of 3 year old TBs.But it was a bit of a faff for the weekend grooms to feed.

I have now spoken to 7 other pepole on difrent FB forums and the staff in my local feed merchant who have been trained by TopSpec at thare offices and Stud all very smart up in the North of England. They have all told me that TopSpec would not tell them the Starch in the Balancers and whare the feed is made.

I don't like secrets so I am going to move on to the Saracen balancer as it is low starch and a good price like your Baileys balancer and an Alfalfa chop from Horsehage.
