Friend who owns Parky went to Doncaster Sales and has come home with yet another brood mare!

Why did he have to go and wave at the auctioneer like a loony instead of sitting on his hands and gagging himself?
Even worse, she's only a month off foaling and have we any good grazing which will be ready in time? Of course not, most of it's waterlogged just now. I told him I didn't have room for anything else, also that I didn't need or want the extra work, 7 is quite enough thank you. I despair of him having the sense he was born with, I really do! grh men, who'd have them!

Do have to say she seems a nice mare though!

Mad man, does he now fully understand that if he were to buy anymore he'd have to find somewhere else to keep them?

Hope the foal turns out nice, any idea who Dad is supposed to be?

Well...I can't say I'd be too upset if my OH wouldn't stop buying horses

My OH would sell the lot! No, he's an old friend; old enough to have been our Best Man; you'd think he'd know better at his age!

Oh yes! It's Silver Patriarch, won the St Leger and used to stand at the National Stud so not an unknown! Mare's getting on a bit but raced successfully, had several foals, some won and placed including a full brother to this one due. I suppose as he paid less than half the stud fee for SP, as long as all goes well, he might have got a bargain!

A friend of mine went to Doncaster sales last year and came home with a Silver Patriarch filly, she's been a bargain buy so far and has caught up with the youngsters a year older than herself - going to be one big girl!
