...at the end of last winter??! He had 2 clips last year and I have to get them sharpened after each clip, meaning both pairs needed doing...this is the first year I haven't got round to it and what a fool! Now I realise why I always make sure I am armed and dangerous...he sprouts the biggest bear coat overnight!!! I only put them into the saddlery yesterday and they take at least 5 working days, in the meantime I am trying to get a horse fit that sweats when I am bringing him in from the field! Work him and he's matted, but in the current weather it's too cold to wash him down (no hot water at yard) meaning I have to WAIT until the persian rug has dried then brush it all out...gah!

Please remind me, someone, in Jan/Feb time (last clip) to bloody well get them done!!!

I have made that same mistake, but only the once!

My horse gets so hairy that I needed to have spare blades available just for one clip.

believe me, you will remember to get them all sharpened next time.

Make a note to remind you on your phone.

you ought to get at least 3 full clips (everything incl legs) out of each set of blades unless the coat is very dirty? i feel short changed if i dont get 4 to 7 clips out of each set of blades? do you use enough oil? coats very clean esp if cobby wiry coats? and clippers serviced?
