Why do horses look so cute and innocent when they are sleeping?

I'm sort of on foal watch at the moment. They aren't 'ready' yet but I'm surveying them for a little while every night to see what they get up to. They don't know they are being watched as we have remote cameras in the stables.

At the moment, the 'Two Fat Ladies' are both lying down fast asleep - they look so cute and cuddly (and fat)! Why can't they be so innocent when they are awake?

LOL I know! I can sit on him and he doesnt bat an eyelid, spent about 10mins just stroking him that day, he would not get up LOL. They look so cute thugh, felt cruel to disturb him!

I';ve been seeing horses sleep a lot recently - waiting for them to foal - but they're doing an awful lot of sleeping and not a lot of foaling!
