After having a few trailer loading - well, more unloading issues with my new horse I have decided to take him to an Intelligent Horsemanship RA for help. We are going to see her tomorrow and for some reason I am already feeling nervous, is she just going to think I'm a wimp. Has anyone else had any experience of such trainers? Advice, help please?!!

Don't panic!!! I don't know who you are going to see - but all of the intelligent horsemanship peeps that I have come across have been really open and easy to talk to. THe ones that I have spoken to have been quick to offer advice - and good advice at that.
I know what you mean about feeling nervous. I think (for me anyway) it is the fact with this kind of thing, and for me more recently getting a new instructor, I have to let someone see what I am doing - and then wait for them to tell me what I am doing wrong. Now I know that I am sooooo far away from being good - let alone perfect - but its just someone picking up on my faults that I don't like! Maybe I am just picky!

Keep breathing when you take your horse - and I am sure that once you start talking through the problems and working with the person you are going to see you will be ok and enjoy it.

Good luck!

They will not think you are a wimp - they want to help you and your horse and I'm sure you will come away feeling more confident about loading/unloading and handling in general.

When we first bought my horse she was terrible to load and was getting really evil towards us like kicking out as she reared up instead of walking in to trailer. We had Richard Maxwell come and sort her out and she loaded fine with him after he had worked with her using the pressure halter. I thought he must think we are stupid when he was walking her in and out of the trailer.
These trainers though are great people who are proffessionals at what they do and understand what we have been through! The horses actually act differently with them as well as they come in very positive than we do, as we know/think the horse will play up! Hope this helps and good luck xXx
