30 odd years ago I broke my thigh very badly in a fall from a horse and once I was home after 2 months in hospital I used to go down the road with my dog (not on a lead) she didnt need one, she was so good she just walked slowly beside me and our old black cat "Jack" always came with us. If I sat down on a wall for a rest as going home was up hill and crutches hurt your hands quite a bit, he sat down with us. If a dog came along he used to hop inside someones garden behind the fence until it had gone and then come back out and walk back up the road home with us. They were both very good company. He lived until he was 18 years old.

My nan takes her cats out for a walk twice a day :D

She takes a bag of roast chicken, and wanders around the estate feeding the neighbours' cats, with a trail of cats behind her :p

my current and previous cat both came on walks with me and the dog. Joe i think cos he saw himself as King of the Estate and Tepi cos he adores Mickey (Tepi wont come near me at all, inside or out, but will cuddle up with M etc)

I always get comments tho and i think its quite sweet :)

Mine used to escort me over the field at night to feed the horses. He was like my little ginger guardian keeping me safe because I used to be nervous going on my own.

He used to "help" me lunge our pony too. When I was lunging you would see was pony, whip followed by cat.:D

I miss him so much. He died last year. :(

my OH cat walks with me to the bus stop and back twice a day every day, the local farmer still cant get over it and i mean he walk with me not 10 foot behide but by my side. if i stop he stops too, he also comes along on the dogs walks, as it happens everyday i find it normal and when i dont see the cat i end up calling him as there must be a reason for him not to come, i.e. shut in doors.

i still have no idea why, i just tell everyone he is confused and thinks he is a dog. :D

A friend of mine works in the local village post office, and her cat goes to work with her in the evenings, and sits outside waiting for her until she finishes work, and then escorts her home :). It's so sweet!

3 of my 5 cats always accompany me when I go round to see to the horses at night - they come round, ferret around in the tack room and hay shed while I'm skipping out, and then come back with me when I go back into the house :)

My cats follow me everywhere, it's got to the point that I have to lock them in the house as they will come right into town with me and I can't have that

I once saw a guy walking up Watford high street with a small tortoiseshell cat on a lead. It was out in front trotting along looking very confident! Made me laugh when he went into the Halifax with their assistance dogs only rule!

My friend has 2 staffies, 3 cats, 11 ducks and god knows how many chickens! When she takes the staffies for a walk, the 3 cats follow her, one after the other, closely followed by 2 chickens that were hand raised and sometimes a duck if she can be bothered. I can tell you that it looks hilarious! scary looking dogs with muzzles on and 3 cats, 2 chickens and a duck :)

At my last yard we have 2 8 week old kittens that used to follow people everywhere. One day they followed 2 idiots out on a hack, they allowed them to follow them all the way down the drive and left them there. They went missing for 2 weeks but luckily made it back alive after awful weather

That is so cute. A lovely old cat of mine used to do this, in fact a few of them did back in the depths of wales where I grew up, particularly Tasha and Tigger, they loved coming for walks on the common land and I loved them coming along, so cute :D

Mine do this too! But we have to do a quick headcount before locking up in case someone gets shut in for the night. The indignant look and swishing tail in the morning is not worth the hassle
