When either me or OH come's home they start eating their food with gusto. Even if one of has us has been home with them. They will go to their food bowls and and start scoffing. The litttle one will also bring in kibble(about 2/3 bits at a time ) in the front room and drop it on the floor and eat it, go back and some more.

are they poodles by any chance??? as my boy kib does exactly the same!!!! they have kibble and he will run into the kitchen pick up a huge mouthfull then run into the lounge drop it on the floor then eat them!! its coz hes excited to see you!!!

No its my sheltie x that does it.

you could try to feed them outside and then put their bowls away...or dont leave any food down for them so they cant bring food in, i never leave food down for my dogs

sound like an attention seeking

please let us know how you get on

I wasn't sure if some sort of attention seeking or her seeking reassaurance. I am happy to leave to their food down, its dried food and the cats tuck in to.

My collie x does this. Shes 10 now and I've had her since she was 4 months old. The rescue center I got her from said it was something to do with other siblings stealing her food. Its a very natural thing for a dog to do.

my dog does this she takes 3 kibbles out of her bowl and trots across the kitchen to the back door mat puts 2 down and eats the 3rd and then eats the other then goes back for 3 more.... i thought it was just her being odd!!lol
