On my way to work this morning i passed a herd of horses which are down the lane i live in most are coloured cobs but there are a couple of thoroughbreds and this morning one of them has dropped a foal over night its tiny so thin and spindly and the mare is all ribby its such a shame it has no hope it will have no life i can not say to much as dont want to cause myself any more probs (i have already been "cursed"lol)they will not feed the mare stud nuts or give her any extra food none have passports and to top it off the fields belong to the local council who dont give a damm about what goes on in them

I pass a very large breeding herd of coloured cobs on the way home from work, although these are well managed. However I do wonder if there is a market for them.

Also on the school run in the mornings, I pass a field which has coloured cobs in it and whoever owns them uses them for breeding as there have been foals produced every year for the past 5 years. The field has been infested with ragwort during the summer, although it was cleared last weekend.

I guess there are some individuals who breed these types of horses to make 'a quick buck', perhaps selling them at auction. Today it is coloured horses - some time ago it was palominos.

I guess many folk breed horses to make money ?

yes i would have said that but i tried to buy a cob off this man a couple of years ago and he wanted a fortune for it and i only wanted to buy it as i felt sorry for it as he was in a field on his own(i am not a fluffy bunny) this man never sells anything as really none of these horses have any quality about them none of them ever grow bigger than 14 hands their feilds are awfull and yes he does give them hay but i wouldnt give it to my goats
