I have been at my new yard for a good couple of months now, everything settled, my two boys in with 2 other boys and my girl and another 2 girls....... new gelding has arrived and cannot be caught... in love with my girl.... I dont have an issue as i can catch my girl and my two boys.

Tonight though i was told that i was not to turn the girl out in the morn as she is going in a seperate field....... as we are now grazing mares and geldings seperatly WTF!

It must be me.... I left my last yard as it went from an Adults only yard to one where the little darlings made the place unbearable.

Probably because your YO is trying to run a business and be all things to all people. I am sure if it was you that was having the problem you would want them to try to accommodate you in trying to sort it out.

I am currently having turnout issues with a livery mare, and myself and all my other liveries are having to poke up with it as I try various combinations/paddocks/systems in order to do the best for the horse. Or should I just say to the owner sorry, your horse will have to stay in 24/7 because it's annoying the rest of us?

No i am not saying that -rowreach BUT when i move to a mixed herd i expect a mixed herd. There would be an uproar if it changed from mares and geldings to mixed, to accomodate one livery whom is on her 5th horse this year - she buys and sells them! the last one was here a week..... the one prior to that was here a month....

Ah interesting one. Well my old YO charged us a lot more than his long standing clients, just cos he didn't think we'd talk to each other. But we did - all of us, and we were ALL on different rates. That p***** a lot of us off, I can tell you ! Stupid little man. Name and address supplied ;):D

Poor gingerwitch, seems youv'e gone from one rotten yard to another. but why does your mare have to go in seperate field if she's in with other mares, surley they should keep new gelding seperate until he fits in with other geldings.:(:(:(

Yes JR - my three have been as happy as larry together at my last yard and this one... the old girl does not like being in a mare only field, she gets bullied by all the others, but she will tell of the geldings....

Dont know why i am having to change but got given the "well if you dont like it" speel !

So hollyhocks to them....off yard hunting again tomorrow as if we have to have mares and geldings seperate their are some much better yards in the area that i can do that at !

your doing better than me.. last livery yard i was on i wasnt even told the darn rules just got it in the ear/bitcing behind my back when i broke them.. pay a deposit please 6 months after id been there was just laughable!

smile hunny.. agree then run for the hills.

Oh I know what you mean - it is ridiculous. YO's seem to forget about the liveries that have been there for longer lengths of time and concentrate on keeping the newer ones happy. Part of the reason we left our last yard.

Did you say anything to your YO? If so what was her response? We used to get the "yes well things have changed" - real helpful haha
