Ok so i have a family of 4 staffs. Our alpha male, Ki, keeps weeing on the sofa. Is he doing it to mark his territory, as we have another male, Buster, or is he doing it when he is scared. It only seems to happen when nobody is in the lounge.

He doesnt like it when one of the other dogs cough's. He will run on the sofa and shake really badly. Also the mum of the family, Kia, has a big hard plastic ball which she goes mad over. She makes alot of noise and again Ki hates this and will shake. Also when my older brother is in a mood and shouts, again, he shakes. We have had him since a baby so know he has never been mistreated or alike so were puzzled. It seemed to have started when the pups got a bit older. Would giving him the snip help matters or would this give leyway to Buster taking over top dog spot???

Sorry wish I could help, if you look at that fantastic guy, dog whisperer, it all seems to boil down to dominance, if you make sure they are all submissive to you, regardless of their own ranks amongst them, its always good.

if you're out though, that can't be implemented! Can you kep them out of there when you are out from now on?

My dog pees everywhere when he enters a room he hasn't been in for a while just to mark, which is annoying me somewhat.

Oh yes they all know that what humans say go. Before we got a staff we spoke to a breeder and he told us we need to rule them with an iron rod (not literally) and since we have had them we make sure they know whos boss. With regards to keeping him out of the lounge when we are out yes we are in the process of turning the large down stairs cupboard into a dogroom for ki and kia and the babies are seperate in the kitchen.

He is so quick though, turn your back for a minute and he will wee!!!
