Why does he smell so bad?!

Hope someone can help, cos the vet can't seem to - my mum has a 19 month old tibetan terrier male. He is a show dog so is uncastrated and in his full coat, but his wee stinks really, really strong. He doesnt seem to have mastered the art of aiming, so he sometimes wees up his front legs and its quite a dark colour wee as well. The vet said the dog is dehydrated but he drinks a lot, more than any other dog we've ever had. Vet said there's nothing else wrong with him (was investigated for some sort of urine infection). Could there be something other than not drinking enough causing him to smell? sometimes if he moves you get a whiff of him and its enough to knock you out! He has to be bathed every 5 days because of this

Drinking lots but producing very concentrated wee is not right. Has he had a blood test? I'd be concerned about things like Addison's, diabetes and so on.

There's lots of things it could be, I'd maybe get a second opinion from another vet. My older dog was prone to UTIs and the local vet just kept giving us anti-biotics and sending us on our way, new vet did a battery of tests and an ultrasound and we finally got to the bottom of it.
