Why has my 6 month pup started yapping in crate??

As title really, he's been crate trained from day 1 @8 weeks. He's with my 4 year old as he always has been. No change at all it's in the same place same blanket ect. This is the 4th night he's been yapping and whining. At no point have I been into him either!!! Last night it went on for 45 minutes!!! And he's just been out for poo/wee???

You don't have mice do you? About the time rodents try to sneak in for a warm bed ***had them set up camp in a welly boot in my utility room once, filled the boot with stuffing from an old dogs bed and kibble***

Maybe teething issues? I know some dogs change when they are teething

Oh god I hope I haven't got mice!!!! Although don't think I have haven't seen mice pooh anywhere and have had a good clear out this week. Plus there jr terriers so older one would prob have sniffed it out and caught it.
Yer it could easily be teething wondered what he was throwing around and playing with the other day and it was his tooth!!! Bless him.
