Why I hate donedeal

Potentially. But other websites don’t really cater for ni so I’m limited on where to look. So I have to see frequent awful adverts 😡

I get that. I very very nearly was getting a Clyde x mare who was skin and bone and had the sweetest face and big puppy eyes. My friend and I even enquired for price (£5k 😳)

I had to just switch off for a bit.

I have bought several super horses over the years from Donedeal. It's like everywhere, sales included. Scroll past the unsuitable ones, a horse to suit will come up eventually.
I’ve had some good ones too, but the general advert you see reads “broke and riding, very quite” [sic] and I think to myself yup, that’s about right 😐

I was having a look (a friend is looking a first horse after riding school) and came across a 6yo tb which clearly has a shocking foreleg deformation and/or injury. Clearly lame in the video. Yet still being sold as a safe sane ride.

Ugh.

I saw him to, something very obviously wrong with that leg. He has such a sweet kind face. Poor boy.

😂 Donegal is quite lovely.

I too reported it but it doesn’t really matter, even if it is taken off they will still advertise again.

I have been using Donedeal for maybe 15 years and have noticed a decline in quality of horses since rise of social media and more choice in ways to sell. Same with Goresbridge.

So why not report the situation to whoever's responsible for animal welfare in that area? Presumably, the seller is willing to give out their address to anyone asking to come and view the horse in question. And you already have access to video showing the issues, etc.

There's no law against selling, the horse may have a deformity and not be in pain, or there could be any number of innocent explanations. But you cannot force someone to keep a horse. All anyone can do is hope a sympathetic person buys him. Yes I have seen the ad, BTW. A bay gelding.
