Why is it always one step forward ten steps back with horses??

Did a jumping clinic last night which really got my confidence up as I hadn't jumped for ages. Then tonight I had a flat work lesson and my horse was more interested in going around like a giraffe and wasn't interested in settling to take any contact at all!!! argh

so I've gone from a total high last night to a low tonight thinking I can't ride any more! argh!!!!

You are soooo not on your own,my boy has had about 12wks off and has forgotten how to look to the left

He was an absolute pig about it

that is definitely a skill I've mastered!!! we do advanced giraffe movements when he's having a particulary off moment!
