DOCK LEAVES?????? Ok I admit it was a unnaturally large dock leaf but did we really need to jump from one side of the road to the other!!! Honestly there is no hope for him, he then proceeded to further ruin my new policewoman image (courtesy of my polite hiviz tabard and hat band) by plodding down the road with half a tree hanging from his huge gob, causing much hilarity from passing motorists ;-)

But I still love him xxx

Ha!! (Just snorted tea across my keyboard)

Mine is still in open warfare with the local calves who, much to his consternation, are getting bigger. They're still a quarter of the size of him, but he obviously still reckons they could take him.

Thanks! Made me giggle. Friends tb spun at a tiny bird sat in the hedge. Dumped her on the road & calmly walked back up the lane to home. I got the phone call to say the horse was making her own way back.....

I have a theory....developed as me and my 13yr old elephant follow nervously behind my daughter on her 4 yr old pony (he go's first to ensure our safety!)

Bigger the horse the smaller the brain!

My 15.3 Appy spooked at a red admiral butterfly last week. We had just passed a huge road works lorry, the road works and another lorry with rattling chains, with absolutely no problem at all, then met the VERY scarey butterfly on the bridleway. We stopped dead and jumped sideways with all four hooves. The butterfly then taunted us for ages, it kept flying infront of us and landing on the path, in our way! :D :D

My 15hh gelding is scared of sheep. He's lived his entire life in a country where sheep outnumber humans 10-1, and he still looks at them like they're going to sprout fangs and launch an offensive

(He's also scared of Golden Retrievers, as I think he believes they're some mutant form of sheep).

hahaa, my 17hh chunk is terrified of miniture horses. He turns to jelly and tries to run away. We were once stood in an arena, all calm and lovely when he suddenly tried running backwards to the other end of the arena because a little mini was rolling in the field nextdoor. I'd already seen it so he couldn't go far so just ended up hiding his face behind my back looking at it and snorting.
We hack past a field of foals which he is fine with, he hacks with a 13hh pony but he will not go anywhere near a mini.

It's not just the dock leaves that get me, it's an individual dock leaf in a clump of identical looking dock leaves that we decide has homocidal tendancies.

We also had an interesting encounter with some calves yesterday who decided to run up and leaping around alongside the bridlepath. Who knew a tb was capable of airs above the ground that would make the spanish riding school proud.

hahaa, my 17hh chunk is terrified of miniture horses. .

lol must be related to my 17hh girl who also thinks that minis are something sinister:rolleyes: a while back a friend asked if she could walk hers out on hand with us for some exercise, cue big girl growing to 19hh and snorting at this 'thing' which appeared in front of her:D She is also 'terrified' of the purple flowers that someone down the road has planted outside of their yard:rolleyes::o

My 22yr old is petrified of fresians - any other colour of cow is fine though!!!! I also got eliminated last year when doing a SJ competition, didn't even get though the start!!! All because there were mobile xc fences on the opposite side of the outdoor arena. The lady on the gate turned round and said better luck next time he's only young and will get better as he gets older. At which point I explained that he was actually 21 yrs old and used to do very well BSJA, at which point we both laughed.

Magic on the other hand is petrified if there has been a pole left on the floor and its changed the colour of the grass!!

My Horse was scared of Dock leaves too! petrified in fact! If we dare go near one or god forbin need to PASS IT he would just spin and quiver.

Also a great 16.2 stonking warmblood. :o deary me!

McNally - we actually think he is a Shetland trapped in a shires body. The stork got mixed up ;-)))

Ah ha, Quite likely!
I also have a shetland and have had to separate the two as the shettie beats up the big boy!
I mean properly draws blood and injures him (fine with any other horse!)
