Is it just me?? but every last penny goes on my horse and I cant help it

My OH has a posh work 'do' coming up at a posh hotel and of course im invited. Looking at me one evening last week slobbing on the sofa in jogging bottoms and smelling of horse he noticed that i was going to require some financial investment to get me up to show standard! He therefore generously gave me some money to get a manicure and buy a dress for his work do. (i think he was imagining how collegues of his would recoil in horror at the sate of my horsey hands while passing the wine!)

Anyhow quite excited by the prospect of a manicure i have gone and got it much too early and a couple of days at the yard its pretty much wrecked

In regards to the dress iv'e spent the money already... not on a dress but on a new bridle for my horse, a new martingale (well 2 a running for jumping and a standing for hacking) and a pair of reins (which ive just noticed are broken, grrrrr)

I dont even need a new bridle!!! I justified it by saying that she has a loop for a flash on the other bridle and I dont often use the flash, also her old bridle is a brown mark todd bridle and the leather doesnt match my saddle. I didnt even need new martingales either but my old 2 match my mark todd bridle and my new bridle is a jeffries and therefore darker brown.

Is anyone else like this??

My OH has just asked me how the dress hunting is going. oops, will he notice if I wear the same one as last yr???

Hope your OH doesnt find out!

I needed a new 'work' coat last year - I really can't wear my riding coat into the office again!! So, I went out with a few hundred quid to buy a really nice wool/cashmere full length jacket..... Came back with a new rug (which I did not need as already have hundreds) and a short jacket for the office (it is cashmere though).

I am a real rug-a-holic (do you think we should set up a support group??). If I see a rug at a bargin price I buy it. If I see a rug at full price, and I like it, I buy it. Whether I need it or not!! Each of my horses have about ten 'best' rugs for shows!! One of my horses has over forty rugs!! I am obsessed with cooler rugs too, and each horse has a string vest, a waffle rug, a fleece and a thermatex!! I am out of control!!

ha ha ha so funny. 40 rugs!!!!

Im a bit crazy with numnahs too, I have hundreds and hundreds they are my way of accessorizing, oh and boots.... overreach boots (bought new ones the other day coz they were softer than some of her other pairs) everyday schooling boots, best schooling boots, turnout boots, boots for hacking, sj boots (best and everyday) xc boots ooooooooh dear. I think a support group would be good!

Im exactly the same...all my spare money goes on buddy! Even for my bday and for xmas all my presents were mainly for him. I dont understand myself sometimes and my chap just laughs at me but seriously i would rather go to the tack shop and spend my money rather than go clothes shopping. Going to be worse when foal comes home to...will have 2 to buy for!!! I must me crazy!!!

I had a new dressage saddle for my 18th birthday, and a new jumping saddle for my 21st.... I had a set of clippers for my 16th Birthday. For christmas I used to go through the Robinsons catalogue and make a list of everything I needed/wanted and my friends and relatives would pool money and buy things off my list. It beats getting smellies and chocolates!!

I spent hundreds on chiropractic treatment for my mare last year but am putting up with a bad back myself because I refuse to spend out getting it sorted, yet I don't think twice about spending it on the horses.

I'm the same, I buy on impulse things on ebay as i cant resist it! I never look tidy or fashionable yet my horse has the latest of everything. I'm the same with back people etc, I get my horse checked but dont ever check my own back?!
Maybe we all have a "condition"

i used to be like this, but now i have a new addiction, baby stuff, ok, i have two babies but do i need 5 car seats, 4 double prams (well, you need the off roader, the very narrow one, the comfy looking one....) 1 single pram, far to many clothes and other gadgets (2 electric swings, 2 bouncy chairs, bumbo seats), 3 highchairs (that they cant use yet as they are too small).... toys that are age 3 + as i saw them, they were on offer and i couldnt refuse....
it was quite strange, went to robinsons and only spent £11

on exactly what i needed!
(mind you, after 15 years of horsey shopping addiction, and never parting with it i guess there isnt much i dont have!)

Nope its not just you my girl gets what she 'needs' and I live on whats left. Some months its about 100 quid. I have got quite good at shopping around. I also sport the dragged through a hedge backward look and I have had people at work pick out hay from my hair!!
