... as soon as an owner goes on holiday, leaving you in charge of their horse, it gets damaged

My mum went away this morning for a few days, and I was supposed to be having a lesson on Chloe, but as soon as we trotted I could feel she was lame in front

Then when I got off her, she kindly pointed with her sore leg

Fingers crossed she's only strained it, and she's not starting with laminitis or arthritis in her front legs, and that she's better by Friday so my mum will be none the wiser

I never let my horses know I'm going away so they can't plan anything...don't even talk about hols round them in case they overhear!

Paranoid but seemingly justified!

I suspect with Chloe it was brought on because for her mum being away means lots of schooling sessions with me so she'd be ready for her first dressage of the season on Sunday

Oh well, that's horses for you

Unfortunately, it is a well-known fact that despite the laws of physics, workings of the universe, fate, karma & everything else, at the end of the day, Sods Law always has the final say!

The only bizarre thing is, why are we always surprised by this.......we must by now, know what's coming, it happens so bloomin' often! Poor you though!

Seriously though, joking aside, I sincerely hope poor lame horsey has simply mildly strained herself & the lameness is not due to either the dreaded 'L' or 'A' words you mentioned!
