I don't know if it is just in my neck of the woods, but I have seen a lot of odd replies to classified ads lately. Mostly on Facebook. Someone will post a saddle for sale, and be bombarded with criticism, questioning, and rudeness about their ad.

Examples: Someone posted a saddle with a worn spot on the front, disclosed this, showed pictures and was flamed for it not being "typical" something wrong with it (duh, she said that), and that they should send it (and older used saddle) to the manufacturer...ok. It was literally a small cosmetic blemish.

I listed a saddle for sale, with detailed photos. I got a number of questions (which I am generally happy to answer) Am is sure it is this? Literally look at the maker's stamp on the saddle. How do I know the panels measure this length, or the seat this length? Literally look at the photos with measuring tape showing this. Why is it also posted in this other group? Um it says cross posted and that is pretty normal when you want to sell something.

I've just seen so much arguing over stupid stuff in the comments of ads. If you aren't interested, move along. I suppose it is fine if someone is blatantly falsely advertising and you want to call them out, but this isn't the case.

Are people just bored, or what?

I think people have more time to nit-pick as they're furloughed, or working from home. I have also seen this happening much more.

Although sometimes it is for the better as someone was offering an 21yo JSA pony free to a good home as companion and there was outcry (rightly so) and in the end the old owner of the pony said they would have her which was lovely to see.

I notice with rugs, someone puts an ad for a top of the range, very expensive rug for sale at a, reasonable price for a rug of that quality and someone will say you can get new for that price. Always tempted to ask for a link as i could do with a brand new Rambo for £40

Every once in awhile I see this too. In some cases (usually on the Lemieux pages) it is true. But I would like to know where people are finding these new items at such prices ? but still, people ask what they ask. If you don't want to pay that, then don't. Or make a reasonable offer...or just move along!

I have a 80€ pad, brand new for sale for 50€, now lowered to 45€ just to get stuff out of my storage room and people will still come up with "35€ shipped" sigh. I guess they think it is worth a shot.
