maybe im just soft but a horse i had on loan has been dumped on me to be sold.
some of you may remember in the summer me whinging about the useless lady that owns her.
i have officially given my notice on her so she is paying her livery, but its still my time going into her.
also i dont understand why i still have her. i told the owner to drop the silly price tag she wanted to something more sensible but still nothing.
i have my own competition horses to do - 4 of them - and i just dont have time for her.
her owner just doesnt get that she needs to go back.
this is her ad, any ideas why she is not selling / what i should do?

I don't understand why you have to sell her? Unless you're getting paid to do so, I would tell the owner to do it herself!!

If the owner is paying the livery then I would just leave the yard to do the horse. Tell the owner that you've done your notice period and that the horse is no longer your responsibiliy. Tell her that she either picks her up and takes her home, or that she will be left at the current yard where your YO will bill her for full livery.

Do you have a loan contract that states you can terminate the loan? If so then surely she's in breach of contract by not taking her back if you have terminated the agreement?

I would personally take some legal advice and find out where you stand on sending it back.

good idea, but it is diy only, hence why mug here is doing her!
she will make someone a lovely horse and its such a shame she is being treated like this as she doesnt deserve it.
she loves me to bits and loves ANY attention she is given as i dont think she has had a lot.
if i could afford to keep her i would and i also just dont have the time.

i do have a loan agreement.
i really only had her to break in while mine were on their holidays / injured and she was to go back when she was broken.

when i gave my notice she told me she couldnt look after like i could, she wouldnt get ridden and she would be wasted in the field doing nothing so i agreed to try to sell her.
this was only a verbal agreement though and is not documented anywhere.

what do you guys actually think of her? any obvious reason she isnt selling?

nice horse, terrible picture of her jumping though, don't you have one where she isn't dangling so badly? sorry, but it would put me off.
i'd put a better pic in, drop the price a bit (it's a weird market with winter coming and hay so expensive etc) and cross everything...
shame i've just bought one, cos i really like her. if the owner's got plenty of money, i'll have her to ride...

To answer your original question (why isn't she selling)...i'd say because she is overpriced by about £1500. Drop the price to £2.5k and you might have a chance.

It's a bad time of year anyway, and add to that the fact that we are going through a global financial downturn and you will start to understand why horses aren't shifting anymore

I think it is a fair price if she is as you say on the forum but you need to sell her up much more as this does not come over in the ad. And get some better pics.

Being cynical, I always look at what is not being said in an ad theres loads not being said here. At least say all the good things about her. And take a commission! Its your time!

I think she looks lovely and I would consider her at that price, but I also think there is a lot missing from the ad that would worry me. Is she good to catch, load and shoe? What is she like in traffic, is she happy living in / out?

I don't think she's overpriced. She's seems well bred (is she registered? if so put it on the ad). I would agree though that the picture over the jump is bad makes her look careless. Maybe you could find someone else to temp loan her whilst she is for sale? If you put up an ad in you local stables/feed supplier/tack shop and the owner was happy about it you may find someone who is willing to carry out the work and costs for the ride?

"recently broken due to owners commitments" - What do you mean by this? Sounds a bit odd IMO The rest is ok but you have missed alot out as dozziesmummy mentions, shoeing? clipping how does she hack? etc? I think she is lovely, but I would def try to get better pics, I would also drop the price a bit too.

I really like her though!

Bill her for your time or take a percentage of the sale price of the horse

I agree - if you are selling her then take a cut of the money. Having recently been horse looking with a friend I wouldn't say she was overpriced but would like more info on shoeing, clipping, catch, load etc

hi
yeah point taken about the ad.
i had limited space on that site.
she is also on horse mart and it says all about her loading, farrier hacking etc
i dont think she is overpriced now ( she was when her owner did her ad!)
im going to give her til end of november i think and then her owner will have to take her back as she will be living out on her own and there are no spare stables

minky moo
you have her then!!
she was originally going to breed from her and she never did as she was always away, hence other commitments.
she had her part broken at 4 and then stopped it as she was going to put her into foal asap, and then she didnt!
