Ok basic story horse has injured back, rider actually admits she concerned she the cause (far from 'petite' lady which she freely admits but rides a lightweight pony) but yet still planning to compete this weekend.
Now she has got the equine chiropractor coming this week but she is still intending to compete in two dressage tests at the local show at the weekend because well its so close and she doesn't want to lose her entry fees. She was speaking to another livery today about it having some massages so that it would be ridable.
Now yesterday I spoke to her about it, I explained as with humans although massages will ease the tension they won't remove the problem if the spine needs manipulation. I know this far too well from personal experience with my own back. She also complained horse has lost weight recently, well yes she would if her back was out as she wouldn't want to lean down and eat constantly as her back muscles will be tight, but as soon as released the weight should return. Although i know far from all I would have thought what I was saying was common sense but it has apparently been ignored
Personally I am just appalled and not overly worried if she happens to be online and reads this as she needs to be realistic and stop being so bl**dy selfish. I know how annoying it is not to be able to compete but this year thats life for everyone. Her poor horse needs a chance to be treated and recover and build up muscle again and that will not happen in under a week. The fact it is not unknown for her to go out for 2 two hours hacks in one day is a bug bear for another day...
