Had vet out for foalie to hve her jabs done.
Conversation goes a bit like this

Vet: 'How was she with the jab last time?'
Me (gushing a bit)' Oh she was an angel - she's fine with needles, won't even flinch, shes such a good girl. I'd be surprised if she even moved.'
Vet:'Great - in we go then....'

five minutes later.

Me: 'Quick - now! NOW! You hold her down and I'll sit on her!'
Vet: 'aaaaarrgghh!'

Fifteen minutes later we manage to get her injected - in the backside.

Horrid beastie. I'm so ashamed.

Your post did make me laugh! I had the same a few years ago with a little TB youngster (I should have known better as she even hated being groomed she was such a sensitive little flower). Anyway I assured the vet she was angelic and no probs. In jabbed the needle. Horse went orbital. Laconic vet asked 'Do you want to scrape her off the ceiling or do you want to wait for gravity to win?'

Yep - doesn't matter what the occasion you can always guarantee they'll take great delight in making an arse of you. Like Jack deciding to take up his old habit of napping and rearing at the gate of the school last night cause I was having a lesson and he was actually having to work. Mortified.

Poor you- they're worse than children, aren't they?!

Mine is the same. Will be an angel out on a super long hack, tractors, buses, minivans all passing and she doesn't bat an eyelid. Car approaches from behind and she starts playing up, swinging her back end out, lovely bit of piaffe etc! Turn round to thank car for being patient and make apologetic grin and see it's the YO!

Another perfect example is telling someone out on foot with me on a hack that "she can be quite spooky, but will tend to run past the object rather than spin around and bolt off. It's much easier to deal with though..."

I'm not awarding any prizes for everyone guessing exactly what the little witch did 5mins later!

I have the opposite with my vet, Im usually all "be careful, he can be a bit of a sod" or "he doesnt like vets" (my 20yr old has always hated vets!) only to have him stand like a damn angel. AGH!
