my mother and i were talking in the car today, about how us pro hunters are pushed into the corner ,and have to keep quite. .. and when we do say our bit.. we are condend for it!
for examples...
when my friend put her two big hunting sgins outside her horse, just before the big ban, after two days.. some people who thought what we do is wrong, started to send nastey message to them ect, so in the end she took them down.. now why should she have to do that? why can't she show her support for hunting, when the antis put up their little signs, and stickers every where? you dont see us sending nastey things to them just because they have got anti hunting signs up.
and once again i put my big pro hunting sign up on my trailer, and when we were traviling back from a comp, we were getting beeped at, shouted at.. A: what is the point of that.. your scaring my horse.. you so called animal lovers?
and B: why can't i have my big sign up on my trailer.. voiceing what i belive in... you antis do it so why can't i? maybe i should should start beeping at you calling you all the names under the sun? but then i'm bigger than you lot, and don't!
Why should us pro hunters, not be able to stick stickers in our cars, with things saying "keep hunting, keep fighting "ect, with out having to worrie that, someone in the car behind you, that dislikes hunting, then gets out and goes for you, just because you've put something in your car, saying/speaking out in what you belive in... you don't see us going around and pulling up at traiffic lights seeing that the person next to us is anti hunting, and strat to kick, shout and scare your children/grand children that are in the car with you.. do you?.. so why do it to us?
and also please tell us, why do you so called animal lovers go around scaring our horse whilst out hunting, just so you can see someone fall off... do you lot not know that scaring a horse is crule.. guess not or eles you wouldn't do it!! or may be you are that thick and just dont think!
and why do the media have to always portray us as the bad lot!!! example.. when the ban came in and when everyone did the first hunt, within the ban.. our hunt.. got and shoot a fox, as it broke covert... and i saw the hole lot... and after they shoot the fox, they gave it to the hounds..(it was dead!!! ), whilst this all happened, sky news was filming it.. and edited it, and out on the news and said "we didn't know if this fox was killed within the law or not" I WAS THERE!.. the media always putting stuff about us as if we are bad people... we're not the ones going around, smacking, putting trip wire down, so the horse will fall over so they can get their kicks out it, killing hounds... letting puppys out of the kennels (the shoutern shires blood hounds- this happend last season).. they lost all their puppys apart from one.. because of these so called aniaml lovers.. so why dont the media put this out..?
and why should i not be aloud to do my subject on hunting for my gcse? when i did.. oh my god the hole class went mad at me.. and in the end the teacher had to make them all be quite just so i could do my speak!!! now if i had done it on me being anti.. well.. im sure it would of been ok to do it then!! they all didn't know what to say when i said i was once anit.. before i got of my bum and went and saw what it was all about!
im sorry but i had to have my rant..... hope all didn't mind

"It's a free world."

I sense disappointment !

I am sure it won't be when Blair finally gets his way.

I mean, he must leave his legacy must'nt he?

I think the hunting act is legacy enough.......or perhaps the jeering chaotic exection of Saddam !!

Disappointment ? Not in the least ! I celebrate our freedoms.

I did my Standard Grade solo talk on fox hunting and stood infront of the class being jeered and having things thrown at me!

It was well worth it though as not only did I manage to set a lot of people straight I also got the highest mark in my year for being original and researching the facts properly

If they talk over you just baffle them with sensible arguments!

Well done Claire for fighting for your sport.

Always remember that when the antis start swearing at you and threatening you, they've already lost the argument.

Yes well said.

I don't dare have a pro hunting sticker in my car, where it is in term time, it would probably be torched for it.....

I do wear my CA fight predjudice band though

"You think I do not deserve mine."

Of course you deserve your freedoms, it is your birthright as much as it's mine.

"Luckily you are failing to to stop me. "

I'm not trying to stop your freedom of speech. What I am doing is trying to explain whay I disagree with you.

I own my farm. Can I control vermin and pests in the least cruel manner?

"What I am doing is trying to explain whay I disagree with you."

You have explained you want the Red Deer of Exmoor eradicated and foxes to be caught in snares.

Of course you can. Just dont make it into a sport, because that would be immoral.

Actually... I dont recall ever saying those things. I dont know enought about your pocket of Exmoor or the deer to make a comment about them. You're confusing me with someone else perhaps ?

I'm all for free speach, but people have to consider how they do it.

For example, Clare has a pro hunting poster. Others have anti hunting posters. Fine - opinions expressed in a non-confrontational way. When people express their views as described in the original post, that's intimidation (and also potentiall dangerous). That's not the same as free speach.

If it were, then I would be perfectly entitled to go out in the streets and call people of various minorities all sorts of nasty racist names. Free speach, innit?!

For the record, I lean towards anti-hunting.

Well said! Free speech is how it sohuld be, intimidation is not!

Talking of beeping at car stickers ... in october on a MOCK hunt we were beeped at and jeered at by a couple of cars, which cracked me up.

I dont jeer, beep, shout or swear at anti-hunt people so i expect the same towards pro's. treat how you want to be treated n'all that!

I totally disagree with any form of violent or aggressive demonstrations or gestures however it has to be remembered that the pro hunters aren’t the innocents in this, just like a minority of those that oppose you’re activities there are members within the hunting family who aren’t averse to the use of violence and/or intimidation so both sides of the divide having room for improvement.
