My TB X was shivering when I brought her in at 430. It has been snowing lightly with an icy wind but she was wearing a 200g turnout and a 350g on top. Normally she is out 6am to 6pm with hay in field and is fine. Any ideas? She is only trace-clipped and I don't like to use more than 2 rugs. Thanks

Had any of her rugs leaked. One of mine shivers like crazy when his hood leaks (which fortunately is very rarely).

She must have been cold despite your best efforts. Mine used to get cold standing still waiting for me to get him in. I'd think about upping the rugs or bring her in earlier in this weather.

cold or wet i have left my TBx in for last 2 days. it is not worth them being out if snow covered nothing to eat and they stand around and get cold after they finish their hay. the wind is really cold. I know you dont like using more thn 2 rugs put i put a fleece cooler on underneath then a couple of rugs on top depending on thickness.

She had lots of hay and rugs hadn't leaked. I think i will have to use another rug and bring in earlier tomorrow. Thanks for the advice, she's obviously not as tough as I thought!
