does my silly horse head flat out for the sea wall??????

We walked/trotted out towards the sea, then went for a blast and Madam just anchored right, even at flat out gallop I had my left leg on and pulling the right rein, she did'nt listen at all. Pulled her up, went out a bit, and she did the same again a further 3 times

My right arm is still aching now! There is no where to go, in front of the sea wall it is all grassy bumpy bits with holes filled with water. The only time she listened to me was on the last bit when she realised where the slope was and went where I wanted and came back to my nicely.

The tide was a good way out, she was'nt running from that.

Any ideas? the sea wall comes up pretty damn quick at that speed!

Well whenever we introduce the youngsters to the beach they do tend to get a bit disorientated when doing fast work........ we found that after a few goes they got the hang of it.

cantering side by side helps

Theres a car park you can park in free at st.annes. its near where the sand yatch club is/was? its pretty much only used by dog walkers and horseboxes/trailers.
If you drive along the prom from star gate (i think thats what its called?) drive past Pontins etc. You get to some traffic lights as you hit st.annes, there is a turning after a few houses on the right hand side that i believe says long stay car park (?) you just turn in there and park and its right onto the beach by the coast guard.
If you have a local a-z i would imagine it's on there.
I've never been up to where you are but St.Annes is quite good, i'd avoid going too much towards blackpool beach thou as a few years back i heard of soooo many who knackered their legs up that way

(it just seemed to be the one year but its made me rather wary)

she has only started doing this the last couple of times I have been - will go to a different beach next time.

As for cantering side by side, we only had two speeds - jog and flat out gallop - and the horse we were with was left standing!! She can't half shift when she wants to!! I nearly fell of the back!
