I find it strange, but a lot of people have said it's because we've bonded. She's acting irrationally with everyone else except me?
I found out today that she tried double barrelling the YO's granddaughter just because she didn't want her in the field with her.. Yet, she's never done such a thing to myself? Anytime I have anyone with me, she follows me closely warning everyone away from myself.. horses included.
Today was just the same. I rode her for the first time, lightly though since I'm breaking her in. A friend of mine lunged her, but Rosy constantly just wanted to come over and stand next to me. She consistently watched where I was, what I was doing etc. As if she was desperate to keep an eye on me.
My friend tried to get close to Rosy to keep her still ready for me to lean on her, but she kept backing away. As soon as I stood next to her, she stood still and waited patiently for me to lean on her. When my friend told her to walk on (because she was still on the lunge line, and it was the first time anyone has ever been on her!), she wouldn't move, as soon as I asked her to walk on, she'd do it straight away?
She seems to listen and let me work with her, but anyone else and she either acts irrationally, or attempts to throw herself at them, or just won't let them near her..
Why is this?
