Rather than going to the European Court to insist on a person's "right" to reduce a deer to a state of exhaustion and then kill it - even though far more humane methods of culling exist - why don't these CA fanatics campaign to introduce a general law against animal abuse?

The sad answer, of course, is that what they're campaiging to "un-ban" IS itself animal abuse.

That's exaclty what the middle way group have always stood for. A law against deliberately causing undue suffering to an animal.

The CA also supported such a law, specifically an extension of the animal welfare act to include wild animals.

It was th anti hunting movement that were opposed to it.

What would you feel about a 'general law against animal abuse' Antoine?

Such a law would have to be carefully drafted only to apply to fluffy warm-blooded mammals of the sort that appear in childrens books wearing mittens. Right-minded people should continue to be able to mutilate rats, mice and creepy crawlies using anything blunt that comes to hand

Antoine, your posts tell us much about the sterility of the anti-hunting movement. We, the pro-hunters, have already asked for a general law on cruelty to animals to replace the hunting Act. You, the anti-hunters opposed it.

Lets be honest, the anti-hunting movement has been overtaken by history. You are yesterday, and have been left behind in the mire of prejudice and bigotry which you represent. Hunting is the most humane form of fox or deer control control short of a bullet in the head which can certainly not be guaranteed.,
