Passed a few cobs earlier on my driving lesson and looked to be travellers, why do they ride with their legs under the horses chin and reins by the poor things arse . If i explained that crapply DD has a good range of this style of riding :D I just don't get what it achieves ? it certainly didn't seem to make the horse move any different apart from trotting with its head in the air fighting the man.

Does it have any affect ? Or is it simply to look cool

Imagine you'd never had any lessons and just got on and had to ride . . . you might end up something like that.

I've only seen blokes ride like this. I always wondered if it had anything to do with being bareback with no stirrups wearing baggy jogging bottoms and trying to protect the family jewels.

:D yes they were men so could have something to do with it, they did say thank you for slowing down though which was nice :)
