I usually ride in jodphur boots and half chaps but I have been given access to a new riding route, avoiding the main road (yay) but unfortunately I have to get off horse and go through very deep and muddy gate into cow field - this wont work wearing jodphur boots as mud too deep so thinking I need long boots. Like the idea of neoprene as my short grub boots keep my toes toasty but not sure how giving they are on the calf?

I have short wide calves and wear Dublin Pinnacle boots for the yard and day to day riding, and Just Togs long boots (available in a wide fitting) for competing.

Thanks Trottingon and Emmasmummy. I will google all. I have short muck type boots which I fold down in summer and they are so comfy and warm.
