Does anyone know of any stockists of wide girths? The non dressage kind that will fit on a GP or show saddle please. I have a sensitive new pony who needs the pressure spread on a wider area than my current (fairly wide IMO) girths are spreading it (they are also elasticated on both ends).

I have tried both my local tack shops. At the first shop the girl said - yeah we do them up to a 54", to which I replied that's the length, not the width (trying not to make this sound like an innuendo). At the second shop I was politely told that if there were non on display then they didn't have them.

I've also had a look online at a few places and can't seem to find anything.

All help gratefully received.

The ReactorPanel girth is super wide and has a very soft leather lining, or a washable sheepskin liner. I can't recommend the dealer of them, but the product is awesome if your horse has room for it - a too-wide girth can cause rubs around the elbows. If you want just slightly wider, and without that nasty thin solid bit in the middle like most Atherston girths, then the Native Pony girth (who I fit for) is really nice and a lot cheaper than the RP!

The choices are:

Wintec / Bates Cair Girths

A standard stud girth

Or something like this:

Or Shires Belly Girth

Try a Stubben Cord Girth. Lovely and soft, nice and wide, don't rub, easy to keep clean and cheap to buy.

I have one and love it, so does the horse!
