Hi all,

I had a pair of wide stirrup leathers for Christmas, what I has realised is that they are single leather under your leg.
Which means there's a webbing loop for your iorn to attach to.
I assumed the iorn needs to hook on.
What stirrups would work with this style leather.
Hopefully I've attached a picture of the leathers

Are you sure the nylon loop isn’t to fit on the stirrup bar, with the buckled strap to slot through eye on the stirrup iron, for height adjustment lower down than is traditional? Looks faffy, and tricky for a novice / older jockey to alter whilst in the plate.

As @Exasperated says the loop is to go on the stirrup bar on your saddle, the strap with holes is for your stirrup irons. I would recommend getting the length right before you get on, or having someone there to help the first time so you can get them right, because although it's possible to adjust them mounted it is a bit of a fiddle. That said I love mine to ride in, I was surprised at how much they help stabilise my leg that has problems from injury and hypermobility.

Hi both,

Thank you 😊, now you've pointed it out it seems so obvious, but I just couldn't fathom it out.

I super pleased now as absolutely love my current irons so didn't want to change.

Thanks again

It's good to hear you feel they have helped you that's what I'm hoping for

Is that similar principle to the swinging fenders on Aussie & Western saddles, then? Only thing, when added to European saddles, there’s also a saddle flap. Glad you are finding some benefit.
