Ok was insured with NFU, sent my last invoice a couple of weeks ago so a question- I got a email from a company called Equine First - are NFU now out sourcing claims to another company or does anyone have a clue whats going on?

Also I had a out standing claim which will go on till feb, now ive changed company can I still claim or is that it???

Yes the NFU are out sourcing new claims, they told me last week they had lots of claims at the moment so was using Equine first. Personally I think something funny is going on too. I was talking to my vets today and they said the NFU used to pay them really quick. Now they are waiting months for there money. I've got 3 claims in, 1 has been dealt with by the NFU they have just paid out and the claim was put in in June. The other 2 have been sent to Equine first and they are useless.

Yes, they are out sourcing due to being very busy.

They have just paid my vets from an invoice dated 14th of June and I also had a second bill from my referral vet.

I played merry hell with Equine First as one of the agents I have dealt with was rude beyond rude.

You can request that NFU take back your claim but it could lead to delays.

We have an ongoing claim with NFU for OH's horse. Received an email from Equine First on 21st September saying they were dealing with our claim and that we would hear from them again within 5 days. Over two weeks later we had phone call saying they had not received documents that we had already sent. Kicked up a stink over the phone with them and NFU, and a cheque arrived 2 days later from NFU. This was followed a couple of days later by a letter from Equine Fist saying that the claim was now authorised and a cheque would be sent out soon!!! Seems that Equine First are not doing NFU's reputation much good.
NFU assure us that this is a temporary measure due to large workload at present.

Check out the other threads on here about Equine First and lack of 'speed and compassion' whilst working for NFU!

Not one good word said sadly!

Think NFU will lose my business for sure now! Taking forever over claims!
