Looking to hire a lorry for a trip to the beach (woo hoo) and my friend has a 17.2 horse, myself and the other friend both have 15.1's (not as far to fall) will they all fit in a box with the dimensions shown below???

Thanks guys.xx

Horse Area Length (divided into 3 herringbone partitions - horses travel sideways) 8'7" (2.6m)
Horse Area Width 7'6" (2.3m)
Horse Area Height to ceiling 7'10" (2.4m)

Size wise I'm not sure but I would be worried about is weight - 3 horses all ur stuff in a 7.5tonne I presume - you might be neat weight wise.

my horse has a med head carriage and is 17'1 travels well in a 7ft 6 box!! everyone will tell you, you need an 8ft box but in reality these boxes are few and far between, i think the ifor williams largest box head height is 7ft6 ish and they take 17'2! Ideally for a larger taller horse we would have a 10ft box but life is full of compromises!!!

My friends horse is 16.3 and our boxes are 7' 6 high and he fits fine. They reckon at least 3 foot width per horse so that would be my main worry.

I dont think you have enough room in a 7ft 6 in wide box ,the big horse will have to be at quite an angle. You will also be close to the maximum gross vehicle weight, and possibly over ,the rear axle weight.

Thanks all. The weight thing was to be my next Question. Glad my boy is 15.1- much easier to organise, yet here i am!!!!!

cheers.xxx
