Thought I would take my mind of the decision I might have to make tomorrow re my poorly mare and design a summer schooling plan for my boy; he's 4, passport says x-breed. I rescued him last year, backed him in January.

Just wondered, do you think he will grow much more?

I am really looking forward to watching him develop. He is coming on a treat and enjoys learning the new things I am teaching him. He is so cheeky in his ways which really makes me laugh! He has recently got into the habit of liking his bottom scratched - he makes an ant-eating face when you give him a good itch!

i nearly peed myself laughing with 3 yr old anglo when he was learning to help with gates, he'd seen a friends cob push the gate with his chest, but he stood near it, stretched his lip, head and neck out and waved it about, didnt ralise he actually had to TOUCH the thing for it to close

The lighter hair around the backs of his knees, the slight feathering and that slight wave to his tail make me think he might have a bit of cob/native somewhere in his makeup in which case he may well grow upwards a little more and a lot more outwards!
I like him a lot, a really nice little man. Nice slope to his shoulder too which should make him comfortable to ride.

Thanks ever so much for the lovely words of advice. Its great to hear other people say he's a nice boy. Just looking forward to taking him out on little adventures!

Yes, I do think he will grow more, not too much upwards but definately fill out a bit. he's got a lovely kind eye.

Looks very New Forest - he might grow a little considering his history, then he will fill out as he matures. His hocks and spine are the last growth plates that turn to bone - this usually happens around late 6yr in all breeds.

He looks to be a real character - you'll have lots of fun with him
