I've just put the boys out for a couple of hours as they were both creating at being stuck in their stables.

So rugged from ear to tail and getting soaked to the skin myself I put them out in the field with loads of shelter and what are they doing........ standing in the middle of the field in all this weather with their noses to the ground munching to their hearts delight!!!

I give up, obviously horses will be horses and I should stop being so soppy

Well if they are all rugged up from ear to tail then why would they need a shelter, they are nice and warm and dry and they get to eat, perfect!!!

I wouldn't expect mine to do anything less than stuff ther faces! They would be horrifed at being in, although I did catch the little hill pony flat out asleep in the field shelter this morning - the only bit of dry land he could find!

Sensible pony!

Me too Flips, I left Che in this morning, foal in next door stable so thought he'd be fine, he doesn;t like rain and I left him tucked up with huge haynet and big bed. Popped down to check and he has completely trashed his box, in a muck sweat and trying to kick his way out because he can see the ponies in the far field. Gave in, put yesterdays wet rug back on and turned him out. he promptly rolled in the muddy gateway and stomped off down the field to hide under the trees. Ungrateful beast, I wouldnt mind so much but at 6pm he'll be pacing up and down by the gate impatient to get in the dry. Can't win can you.

You're so right, yesterday when I went to get them in I had to drag Bruno from under the trees up to the gate and he kept stopping and turning his bottom into the wind and hunching his shoulders and tucking his head behind me (obvioulsy at 5ft 5 I make a huge windbreak

) and yet today he's all about getting out into the howling winds and driving rain
