Hi, I'm 15 and we have just bought a new horse as a mother/daughter share. He is a 5 year old, 15.1hh, Irish Sport Horse gelding. I do not know a huge amount about this breed, therefore, I do not know at what point he will stop growing. He is my first horse as I have just come off ponies and I (and my mum) would like to know if he has reached his full height or, if not, how much more he would grow as we don't want him getting too big.

If anyone can help please let me know
Thank you xx

Hi, I bought my ISH rising 5 at 15.3 and he's just over 16hh now at 7 so you shouldn't see more than an inch or so over next couple of years.

He might grow a little more - another hand or so. If you are competing affiliated you cannot get a life height certificate until the year in which the turn 7 so I figure that is probably a good gauge for the age at which you can confidently expect them to have grown all they are going to.
