As the GN will not be running the virtual one is being shown this afternoon with profits to charity.
A list of runners and jockeys

My choice will be Tiger Roll to make history, obviously he cannot but he can come back next year if this is all over by then.
Places
Beware the Bear, topical as a H&H namesake
Magic of Light

It is a shame One for Arthur is not in the line up.

Rather than take the 40 most likely runners they took the top 40 at the last declaration stage and Arthur was number 44 so didn't make the cut for this but hey ho!

ITV put their coverage of the 2017 National on YouTube yesterday so if you have an hour to spare and want to watch 39 other horses run and be named before Arthur actually comes onto the scene 3 out then it's well worth a watch again!

As for the Virtual Grand National? As much as it would be nice to see Tiger Roll win I have a soft spot for Magic Of Light - she would have Tiger Roll last year if it weren't for a blunder at the last!

So she is my pick.

This looks like fun! Is this based on the horses past results/history in racing and then the going of the course etc on the day? - I don’t know much about racing so excuse the terminology!

And if so then surely the one with the best odds will win as that’s who has been predicted to win based on the above anyway?! I’m confused :)

Definitely will be placing a bet and having a drink whilst I watch though. Might leave the heels and fascinator in the wardrobe though!

Do you think the virtual starter will manage to get them off first time??
I'd have gone for Kimberlite Candy in the real thing so I'll go for him in this too even if he only just squeaked in.

Given the ground I don't think he would have liked it today at Aintree. He is a real mudlark! But if it comes up soft on the virtual or real race in years to come I'd say he would be one of the real chances to win.

Just watched it, the race of champions was brilliant and both races surprisingly good to watch. The graphics are really good, a long way from the Dressage Divas computer game!

i was disappointed in the race of champions that they had many clouds fall. Also for manifesto to have come so close to red rum trained in the 1890's seems unlikely but good fun. The 2020 race, well we will never know!

Twas all a bit silly, but I admit I have a VERY sentimental mental picture of all the old un's watching it from aloft and spending the rest of the evening arguing about it (in a nice sort of way).
