Well we had a nice, but wet, day out at the Grange. No surprises in the fact that it rained, it always does there

William was a very good boy, it was only his 3rd dressage outing, hes only 4

came 1st in P7, with 60% and 4th in P10 with 60%, so big pats for the boy

sorry for being self indulgent!
the judge was Bridget Powel (i dont know what your thoughts are on her?!) but i thought she marked harshly. not really from my pov, but others i though deserved more.there were some lovely big moving horses that got only fractions above me, which cant be right.
anyways the boy was good, so thats all that matters, i didnt even dream of getting a rosette let alone winning

bridget powell, she shouln't be allowed to judge, god knows how she is still a BD judge!! 60% is good, but at the end of the day it is unaff and she should be encouraging. guessing that you had comments on how your horse should be more elastic thru the contact....!

Well done, what a star for his 3rd ever dressage.

You do get some judges that are harsher than others but I do agree that it should be encouraging at unaff .... well and Affiliated for that matter.

If you get a good (and I would say 60% is good!) mark from BP then you've done well

Well done!

I was there too yesterday, but did the 3rd and fourth classes which had a different judge. First class was ok, but I'm not sure about the second class - the judge seemed to have missed the bits I knew weren't great and gave us good marks for them,, and the bits that felt fab she gave us rubbish marks for. Also had comments that he's never had before (and he wasn't going particularly differently) so I'm not really sure what to make of it - hey ho!!

do you go to the grange often? next time we shall have to say hi
grin.gif

sounds like your judge was as inconsistent as mine, but as you say heyho! we live to fight another day

Hi

I go most of the time for unaff SJ, and hopefully will be able to make most of the unaff dressage from now on - definitely will have to say hi

Exactly, I have taken her comments on board, but still not convinced by them!!
