After a 4 fault round, Geoff Billington joined him in the jump off.
Will and Mondriaan produced a clear, sadly Geoff had the same fence down as he had in the first round.

CONGRATULATIONS to Will.

Thanks for the update. I had been watching it but stupid BBC Northern Ireland decided to put gaelic football on halfway through it

Anya's first viewing of Hickstead (on the telly), we were on the edge of our seats!!!!!

I enjoyed the chat with Will & Geoff afterwards.

It was very nice to see them having a laugh, both great guys with decent sense of humour imo.

it's fantastic after all the horse has been through. He had colic surgery in December 2005 and went on to win 6 months after in 2006 and 2008. There is hope for all horses who have gone through that horrible illness. SUPERB!

brilliant competition, i was so pleased he won, fantastic.
didn't enjoy watching the Speed Derby, i must admit... the guy who went for the obscenely long stride at the last and put the horse on the floor... jeeeeez.

Apparently he's the kinder of the two brothers to his horses.....I think he just had a flaky moment.

I thought it was great to see the younger riders getting some airplay, Ellen had an equally flaky moment trying to go up the bank sideways, but I loved the way she regained her horse's confidence to get him to carry on.
What an interesting competition the Derby was. God, these horses fill me with awe at their ability. They can wobble early, and still come back to be in the reckoning. Hardest luck story has to be the girl whose horse was jumping like a star until he hit the bottom of the bank like a stone and dumped his pilot over the rails...and funniest moment should be cameraman at the road crossing........bless.....

it was either him or his brother that was the rider that was pretty much sent home in disgrace after beating their horse senselsess when it stopped at the road crossing (i think) one year.

yes I too watched it at Hickstead, what a fab ending to a brilliant day

Couldnt believe how much smaller Geoff s horse was compared to Williams !! It wasn't 'till the line up at the end you could really see the height difference.

i thought it was brilliant not so much for partner and kids tho i was on the open stand near the bank and im like a lobster too

Great result for Will....i'm very pleased for him

I noted at the end of the commentary that he said 'now that i'm not doing any more nations cups...' !? Anyone know what he meant by that

If you had Sky you could press the red button and watch the rest on interactive

What a shame for William Whitaker on his 2nd ride though, That jump off could have been interesting if he didn't get the final fence down...The Derby newcomer against the old pro's...could have been interesting!

Totally agree, i thought WW rode Animation beautifully, was such a shame at the last, the horse was jumping out of its skin. His time will come though!!!
